PUNCTURES

When can you safely repair punctures?

Cuts, breaks and abrasions to the tyre casing can penetrate deep into the inner fabric of the tyre and can be extremely dangerous - capable of causing high speed blow-outs.

However, penetration of the tread by a nail or shard of glass or metal can often be safely repaired.

Which part of a tyre can be repaired?

Tyres can only be repaired in the area marked 'T'
The area 'T' is defined as a percentage of the tyre's width:
Up to and inc 155mm .......... You can repair the middle 60% of the width
Above 155mm to 200mm ... You can repair the middle 65% of the width
Above 200mm ........................You can repair the middle 70% of the width
Also for tyres rated 'V' and above, only one repair is allowed.
