Checking your tyre size

The importance of the correct tyre size

To get an accurate quote, and the right tyres waiting for you when you turn up, we need your tyre size.

We can look on a database (as do others) but they are not always accurate.
With so many model types and specification updates, the best way to start is just look at the tyre.

Where to start

On the side of the tyre is all the information you need. Take a look at the diagram and it shows what all the numbers mean.

Width

This is the width of the tyre measured in millimeters

Profile

This is the height of the tyre as a percentage of the width (sometimes referred to as aspect ratio)

Speed Rating

This tells you the maximum speed at which you can travel under full load. For more details go to Step 2

Wheel Size

This is the diameter of the rim in inches
